Industrial Valve Servicing You Can Rely On
Industrial valves are critical control points in any process system. A leaking seat, a seized actuator, or a valve that won't stroke correctly can bring production to a halt or create a serious safety issue. On South East Queensland, finding a mechanical fitter with genuine valve servicing experience, not just general maintenance, has been difficult. That's where OMS comes in.
We service, overhaul and repair the full range of industrial valves used in food and beverage processing, manufacturing, mining, power generation and water treatment facilities. Gate valves, ball valves, butterfly valves, globe valves, check valves, control valves, and the electric, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators that operate them.
We work on-site where possible to minimise production impact, arrange workshop overhauls when a valve needs it, and test valves before they go back into service. Our background includes extensive valve work in food-grade hygienic environments through to high-pressure mining and power generation applications.

Real Valve Experience,
Local to South East Queensland
Valve servicing is a specialist skill. A mechanical fitter with general maintenance experience and a mechanic who has spent years working on industrial valve populations are two very different things. Valves that are incorrectly overhauled, improperly packed, or calibrated wrong can leak, fail, or introduce contamination risk in food and beverage environments.
OMS brings genuine valve servicing experience from demanding industrial environments, mining operations, power generation facilities, and food processing plants, to South East Queensland. We understand the difference between a valve that works and a valve that is safe, compliant, and properly commissioned.
For South East Queensland food processing, manufacturing, and industrial businesses, having a local contractor with this level of valve expertise, is genuinely valuable. We're here, we're qualified, and we know what we're doing.
Valve Servicing by Type
Different valve types require different servicing approaches. Here is a breakdown of what is involved for the most common industrial valve types we service in South East Queensland.
Gate Valve Maintenance
Gate valves are used for isolation and are prone to seat and wedge wear, gland packing leaks, and stem corrosion. Servicing includes gland repacking, stem inspection and replacement, seat and wedge reconditioning, and testing before return to service. Rising and non-rising stem configurations.
Ball Valve Servicing
Ball valves are common in process piping and require seat ring replacement, ball surface inspection and replacement, stem seal replacement, and body seal reconditioning. We handle full bore, reduced bore, and trunnion-mounted configurations in a range of materials.
Butterfly Valve Overhaul
Butterfly valve servicing covers disc and seat liner inspection and replacement, stem bearing replacement, gearbox and actuator servicing, and sealing surface reconditioning. Wafer, lug, and double-flanged configurations in ductile iron, stainless and specialty materials.
Control Valve Service
Control valve servicing requires specialist knowledge of valve trim, characterisation, and positioner calibration. We carry out full plug and seat replacement, packing replacement, positioner setup, and stroke testing, with documentation for your maintenance records.
Actuator Overhaul
Pneumatic scotch yoke and rack-and-pinion actuators, electric actuators, and hydraulic actuators. Spring replacement, seal kits, gearbox servicing, positioner and limit switch setup, torque testing, and fail-safe function verification.
Hygienic Valve Work
Hygienic butterfly valves, mixproof valves, diaphragm valves, and seat valves for food and beverage processing. Correct material selection, gasket compatibility, surface finish requirements, and clean-in-place compatibility are all understood and observed.
Globe Valve Servicing
Globe valves throttle flow, so seats and plugs wear and packing leaks. We lap or replace the seat and plug, repack the gland, check the stem and function check the valve before it goes back into service.
Check & Non-Return Valves
Swing, lift, dual-plate and ball check valves. Worn discs, seats and hinge pins cause backflow and slamming. We inspect, rebuild or replace them, often during pump and pipework shutdowns.
Knife Gate & Plug Valves
Knife gate valves on slurry, bulk and process lines, and lubricated and sleeved plug valves. Seat, gate, sleeve and packing replacement, plus actuator servicing.
Diaphragm & Pinch Valves
Diaphragm and pinch valves for chemicals, slurries and water. Diaphragm and sleeve replacement in the right material for the duty, with actuators serviced at the same time.
Pressure Relief & Safety Valves
Relief and safety valves removed, refitted and replaced like for like during planned maintenance and shutdowns.
Pressure Reducing & Regulating Valves
Pressure reducing and regulating valves on water, air and steam lines. Diaphragm, seat and pilot servicing, then set up to your required pressure.
Divert & Mixproof Valves
Hygienic divert (diverter) and double seat mixproof valves in food, beverage, brewing and dairy plants. See our hygienic valve servicing page.
Air Release & Vacuum Valves
Air release, air vacuum and combination valves on water mains and pump stations. Floats, seals and orifices cleaned, rebuilt or replaced so lines vent properly.
Solenoid & Pilot Valves
Solenoid and pilot valves on actuator and process air circuits. Replaced and set up as part of actuator servicing so the valve strokes when it should.
Common Questions
Yes. We service, overhaul and replace valves and actuators at water treatment plants, and can work alongside your own maintenance team or during shutdowns. See our water treatment page.
Yes. We run scheduled seal change programs for hygienic process valves, with every valve tagged with its seal material and service year. See hygienic valve servicing.
Butterfly, gate, ball, globe and control valves; check and non-return valves; knife gate and plug valves; diaphragm and pinch valves; pressure relief, safety and pressure reducing valves; air release valves; and hygienic single seat, mixproof and divert valves, plus their pneumatic, electric and hydraulic actuators.
In many cases yes. Gland repacking, minor seat work, actuator servicing and calibration can often be carried out in-line without full valve removal, minimising production impact. Whether this is practical depends on the valve type, size, and the nature of the work required. We'll give you an honest assessment when we look at the job.
Overhauled valves are pressure tested, seat leakage tested and function checked before they go back into service, and we use specialist seal tooling for divert valves, where seals are easily damaged without it.
We work across most major valve and actuator brands, including Emerson (Fisher, Keystone, Vanessa and Anderson Greenwood), Flowserve, Baker Hughes Masoneilan, Samson, Spirax Sarco, Valmet Neles, Velan, Crane, KSB, AVK, DeZURIK, Bray, KITZ, Habonim, GEMÜ, Bürkert, Parker Hannifin, AUMA and Rotork actuators, and hygienic valves from SPX FLOW, Alfa Laval, GEA and Pentair Südmo. We also service valves from smaller or less common manufacturers. If you have a specific brand, give us a call and we'll confirm our experience with it.
Yes. We have extensive experience with hygienic valve servicing for food and beverage processing environments. We understand the material requirements, surface finish standards, gasket compatibility, and clean-in-place considerations involved in food-grade valve work. See our factory maintenance page for more on our food processing experience.
