Catch It Early, Fix It Properly
Gearboxes rarely fail without warning. Noise, heat, vibration, oil leaks and metal in the oil all show up well before the teeth or bearings let go. OMS provides trade qualified fitters for industrial gearbox repairs, from inspection and diagnosis through to removal, repair and refit.
Where it is practical we open the gearbox up on site and replace bearings and seals in place. Where it needs a full overhaul or new gears, we remove it, arrange the overhaul through specialist gearbox shops, then refit and align it, so you deal with one contractor from start to finish.
Most gearbox failures trace back to alignment, lubrication or the coupling. We check all three, so the repaired gearbox lasts.

Can you repair an industrial gearbox on site?
Often, yes. Bearings, seals and breathers can usually be replaced on site. If the gearbox needs a full overhaul, we remove it, arrange the overhaul and refit it.
Why is my gearbox noisy or running hot?
Common causes are misalignment, low or contaminated oil, worn bearings and coupling problems. We check each before replacing parts.
Do you align gearboxes after a change-out?
Yes. Every gearbox we refit is aligned to its motor and driven equipment before it goes back into service.
Where do you repair gearboxes?
Across South East Queensland, including Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast, plus shutdowns further afield.
