A lot of maintenance and upgrade projects need fabrication work alongside the mechanical fitting โ brackets, frames, guards, platforms, custom components, or structural modifications. The problem is coordinating two separate trades: a fitter who can do the job, and a fabricator who understands what the fitter needs.
OMS bridges that gap. We coordinate fabrication work as part of the broader project scope โ specifying what's needed, managing the fab side, and doing the mechanical fitting ourselves. One point of contact, one accountable contractor, cleaner results.
Whether it's a simple bracket to fix a problem, a full structural modification to a piece of plant, or bespoke components to replace something obsolete โ we can scope it, coordinate the fabrication, and fit it properly.

We'll work out whether it's something we can turn around quickly in-house or a scope that needs coordinating with our fab partners. Either way, we manage it end to end.
๐ 0472 876 711Frames, supports, platforms, stairs, and structural modifications to existing plant and equipment. We coordinate with certified fabricators and manage the work through to fit-off and handover.
When OEM parts are obsolete, lead times are too long, or a standard part just won't work in your application โ we can engineer and fabricate custom components to fit your specific requirements.
Modifications to existing plant for operational improvement, maintenance access, safety upgrades, or process changes. We scope the job, manage the fab, and handle the mechanical fitting.
Machine guards, safety barriers, and access platforms fabricated and fitted to your plant. Designed around the practical requirements of your maintenance team as well as compliance obligations.
Pipework modifications and new connections for mechanical system upgrades. We work with carbon steel, stainless, and hygienic applications across industrial and food-grade environments.
Planned shutdowns often require fabrication work alongside the maintenance scope. We can include fabrication coordination as part of your shutdown plan, managed by us from start to finish.
The biggest problem with fabrication projects in a maintenance context is coordination. The fitter doesn't know what's been fabricated. The fabricator doesn't understand how it needs to fit. The client ends up in the middle, managing two separate parties and dealing with the problems that fall between them.
OMS runs fabrication coordination as a single accountable scope. We specify the fabrication requirements based on what we know needs to happen mechanically, manage the fab, and do the fitting ourselves. No finger-pointing, no misaligned components, no surprises on site.
We're Sunshine Coast based โ local enough to visit the site before any metal gets cut, and experienced enough to know what questions to ask before a job starts rather than after.
Both, depending on the job. Straightforward fabrication work we handle directly. For larger structural scopes or specialist welding requirements we coordinate with our fabrication partners โ but we manage that relationship and remain accountable for the outcome. You deal with us, not a separate contractor.
Yes. This is one of the most common requests we get. When OEM parts are no longer available, lead times are excessive, or the cost of genuine parts isn't justified โ we can reverse-engineer and fabricate replacement components. We'll assess the application, determine appropriate materials and tolerances, and manufacture to suit.
Yes โ and this is often the most efficient way to handle it. If you've got fabrication work that needs to happen during a planned shutdown, we can include it as part of the overall scope. Pre-shutdown site visits, fab coordination ahead of the window, and fitting during the shutdown itself. Keeps everything on one job order.
Yes. We have experience in food and beverage processing environments and understand the requirements for hygienic fabrication โ surface finish, weld quality, material selection, and clean-ability. For food-grade applications we'll specify and coordinate accordingly.
Call us on 0472 876 711 or email Service@oms-au.com. For anything beyond a simple component, we'll want to visit the site before quoting โ that's the only way to quote fabrication work accurately. We're Sunshine Coast based so site visits are quick to arrange.
Tell us what you need. We'll scope it, coordinate it, and fit it right.
